Terms of Service

1. Agreement to these terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and Store ("Store", "we", "us"), the operator of the Store commerce platform, and govern your access to and use of the Store website, merchant dashboard, storefront hosting, and related services (the "Service").

By creating an account, opening a store, or otherwise using the Service, you confirm that you accept these Terms and that you are legally able to enter into this agreement. If you use the Service on behalf of a business, you represent that you are authorized to bind that business.

2. Accounts and merchants

You must provide accurate and complete information when registering, including a valid email address, your legal or trading name, and the proposed address (slug) of your store. You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for all activity that occurs under your account.

As a merchant you are independently responsible for the operation of your storefront: the products you list, the prices you charge, the accuracy of your descriptions, your compliance with consumer-protection and tax obligations in the markets you sell to, and the lawful fulfilment of every order you accept. Store provides the platform; it is not the seller of record for goods sold through merchant storefronts.

3. Acceptable use and prohibited goods

You agree not to use the Service to sell or promote anything unlawful, fraudulent, or harmful. Prohibited uses include, without limitation:

• Goods or services whose sale is prohibited by the law of any jurisdiction where you or your customers are located;
• Interest-based lending or financing products, gambling, and lottery services;
• Alcohol, intoxicants, and other substances that are unlawful where sold;
• Adult content, and content that is defamatory, hateful, or that infringes the intellectual property or privacy rights of others;
• Attempts to gain unauthorized access to the Service, other tenants’ stores or data, or to interfere with the platform’s integrity or rate limits.

4. Shariah-compliant commerce

Store is built for ethical, shariah-conscious commerce. The platform is designed to avoid riba (interest): Store does not charge interest on merchant balances, does not operate interest-bearing credit for shoppers, and does not offer interest-based buy-now-pay-later products.

Merchants who choose direct-transfer or part-payment methods remain responsible for structuring their own sales so that the deferred balance is a fixed, transparent amount agreed at the time of sale, free of compounding or punitive interest. Merchants are independently responsible for the permissibility of the goods they sell; the platform’s tooling (zakat-ready earnings reporting, transparent fixed pricing, gharar-minimizing product fields for descriptions and availability) supports but does not substitute for the merchant’s own diligence.

5. Fees, plans, and billing

Use of the Service beyond the free tier requires a paid subscription to one of the plans published on the pricing page. Subscription fees, billing periods, and renewal terms are shown at checkout before you confirm payment. Subscriptions renew automatically for successive billing periods until cancelled.

You may cancel at any time from your dashboard billing page; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period and no further charges are made. Fees already paid for the current period are non-refundable except where required by law or where the Service materially fails to meet the service levels described in the Service Level Agreement.

We may change plan prices on reasonable notice; price changes apply from your next billing period, and continuing to use the Service after the change takes effect constitutes acceptance.

6. Payment processing

Storefront payments are processed by third-party payment providers you configure (such as Stripe, PayPal, Paystack, Flutterwave, Razorpay, or Mercado Pago) or through customer wallets and direct transfer. Store does not take custody of shopper funds except transiently where a wallet feature is enabled, and does not guarantee any provider’s availability or approval decisions.

You are responsible for your own provider contracts, chargebacks, disputes, and compliance with the payment providers’ acceptable-use rules.

7. Content and licence

You retain ownership of the content you upload to your store (product data, images, text, policies). You grant Store a worldwide, non-exclusive licence to host, reproduce, and display that content solely as needed to operate the Service for you.

You grant shoppers the ordinary licence to view and use your storefront for shopping purposes. Store may remove content that breaches these Terms or applicable law after notice where practicable.

8. Availability, suspension, and termination

We aim for the availability targets described in the Service Level Agreement but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms, create legal risk for the platform, or remain unpaid past due.

You may close your store and export your catalog data at any time. After termination we retain data only as long as needed for legal, billing, and fraud-prevention purposes, then delete it in line with our Privacy Policy.

9. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" except as expressly stated in these Terms or the SLA. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Store disclaims implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Store’s aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the fees you paid to us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, or goodwill. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

10. Changes, governing law, and disputes

We may update these Terms; the current version is always published at this page with its last-updated date. Material changes are announced in the dashboard before they take effect.

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable at Store’s principal place of business, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes will first be addressed by good-faith negotiation through our support channels before any formal proceedings.
